Understairs cupboard in kitchen

Hello :hello:
Buying a house at the moment where the stairs cut over the top of the kitchen. So the kitchen narrows and there is an understairs cupboard. Standard sort, right angle triangle shaped about 1.7m at tallest point. similar to this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uh9f0rh8o5s/TU7mG30HNHI/AAAAAAAAAFs/JfKYcrQ_TrY/s320/DSC01924.JPG
Im trying to think of a useful way of using the available space. A Standard understair cupboard isn't the most practical space. Had a quick google image search and found a few interesting ideas. Converting the cupboard by cutting out the side wall and putting in shelving or drawers and small cupboard units below.
Has anyone done anything like this or seen any good ideas?

We had the odd shaped door in our understairs cupboard moved from the kitchen into the hall when we had our kitchen done.
Our cupboard door is now about 4' high and narrows down to about 2'6" and then goes under for about 2'6".
We have a row of hooks on one wall to use to hang up the mops/brooms but it is an awkward space to fill."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
We have the cupboard, but our next door neighbours have the door and part of the side wall removed so the kitchen is larger and the roof slopes away at that point. They have base units with worktop over, which is usable. IIRC, they have their microwave on it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I use our cupboard under the stairs as a pantry but the stairs go round the corner so it's a walk in sort of cupboard. It's a really useful space, I think you'd just need to check that there's nothing in there that would warm the space too much for storing food. You could do a pull-out pantry like these - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=slide+out+pantry&client=firefox-a&hs=bBz&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&tbm=isch&imgil=JgaiSJMhc6ZlyM%253A%253Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fencrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com%252Fimages%253Fq%253Dtbn%253AANd9GcRzP290heZ_2fYw5YLdISmcQB5nIrts-QeCYxDntT26gk4FaxgLWQ%253B2700%253B3000%253Bdq4gtzZnyIyp8M%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fshelfgenie.com%25252Fblog%25252Fshelfgenie-of-chicago-slide-out-pantry-shelves-create-more-functional-storage-in-your-burr-ridge-kitchen%25252F&source=iu&usg=__r672xcfm5RlHrqTviBOEhX8MPrw%3D&sa=X&ei=0i8KU-P5NNPn7Ab-y4CYAw&ved=0CD4Q9QEwAA&biw=1366&bih=608#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=JgaiSJMhc6ZlyM%253A%3Bdq4gtzZnyIyp8M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fshelfgenie.com%252Fblog%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252Fpantry_pull_out_shelving1.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fshelfgenie.com%252Fblog%252Fshelfgenie-of-chicago-slide-out-pantry-shelves-create-more-functional-storage-in-your-burr-ridge-kitchen%252F%3B2700%3B3000 - but obviously a bit shorter.0
