They would have to issue a new letter before claim, and for them to go after costs for a different claim because their principle cancelled is a spurious one to say the least. They will get nothing from you, the hard part is done.

So if it goes to court because I offer them say £25 and they decline, do they have a case?

You can't mention the offers in court, so their case would be the same, and your defence would be...not much at all of any substance.

Are you telling us you merely defended it on the one point - despite the advice you got about where to research a strong court defence wording?

I'm surprised C-M even suggested negotiating £25 with them.

Because the OP hasn't submitted what could be described as a solid defence and wouldn't be likely to win against a PE solicitor in court. It seems as if, despite all the info & advice provided above earlier, they haven't read/understood/used the Prankster's Guide or (apparently) read anything about cases where people have beaten PE.

Most people still lose v PE in court, every day, and it's those with weak defence points and who haven't researched the issues. I am concerned to see whether this claim has actually been 'vacated' or not. If not vacated the one saving grace would be if their local court (which I asked about ages ago but got no answer) is in Essex, Cambs, Norfolk or Suffolk where a bulk case is due to be heard which might help the OP (or it might not).
Parking eye have confirmed that they have cancelled the parking charge as they have had it confirmed by the landowner and the court part has been stopped. This is separate now, they are now saying they want to charge me £50 in charges, between them and me, for not replying to them before it went to court. My defence was accepted and that part is now over.

But the 'without prejudice' offer does not stop the court claim. The defence was not accepted and it is not 'over' unless the case is 'vacated'. Is it?
Yes the court wrote to me saying it was done then parking eye wrote to me saying it was done but in last part of letter said they wanted £50 as I wrote above

And PE can reinstigate a claim at any point. What do you mean 'the court wrote to me saying it was done'? What words did the court use please? 'Stayed?' 'Vacated'?

If the court are sayi g it is done then the case is over. If ParkingEye want 50 they will have to file a new claim. Write to them saying that you deny any money is owed and that if they think otherwise please send a fully compliant letter before action.

What did the court say in the letter - what does 'it was done' mean?
