DLA is not means tested benefit and I think about a third of people on it work.
Also, as mentioned above, if you work 16h and claim WTC, you'll likely be much better off than now.I have just been offered a job, but she said i'd have to do at least 4 days a week (long shifts) & my well being worker suggested i do 4 hrs max a day & part time.
Would it be possible to see if you can do 2x 10h, with 2x 30 minute breaks? This would get you to 18 hours, so you can claim WTC.It's waitressing so not sure if this is a stressfull job, i'm even more confused now as i feel it might be too much too soon for me, but i don't want to miss a good opportunity. Any advice would be hugely appreciated
If it's busy, it will be stressful (OH staffs a bar alone for 4 days in 8), then doubles up for a fifth, being considerably less stressed on the night she's double shifted.
Night 5 is, however, used for stock takes and re-ordering, with the occasional customer interaction.
