Can anyone help?

I like to do crosswords, i save the blank crossword as a photo, then usually print it, now my printer has broken, is there any way i can add the letters/text to it, like via some free software?

Use paint.net, and add an extra layer for each word. Should not be that fiddly once you get used to it? You may want to rename the layers 4d and 4a etc so you know what is what

I used to use paint.net layers in conjunction with a wacom tablet to do the sudoku
