What's your anticipated annual mileage and what sort of driving pattern i.e. many long motorway journeys or just tootling around town most of the time?

It will depend on your journey type. Some people manage to achieve close to the manufacturers figures where others get much much less.

Some peoples idea of a traffic jam is more than 3 cars at a junction. Near me it can take you over half an hour to less less than half a mile.

I have a Mondeo diesel . It will do 60mpg on a clear motorway. I averaged 57mpg on a trip to the coast and back last year. Yet a couple of winters back it also averaged less than 30mpg.

    Thank you.

Understand many factors have an effect on mpg achieved but hoped to have guided recommendations from people's experiences driving cars.

VW Caddy SDI's are capable of up to 70MPG. Not fast, but they're ideal for transporting goods, especially on a commercial level.
