Hi some asked me that he is going to the above but when he plug in his phone no dial tone but advised that line live at the BT exchange ?
And if BT eng comes and find issue not out side he will get charged £125.00
can any one advise why this is

Remove master socket faceplate.
Plug known good corded phone into test socket.
If no dial tone then its BTs responsibility to fix.
If dial tone then its the home owners problem.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
but if last person in flat was sky customer then he would still need bt line ?
so the line should be live for next person to use ?0 -
No, the line will have been disconnected when the previous occupier closed their Sky account.
If the line has been reconnected to BT then that is normally a £120 charge anyway. There may be an issue between exchange and street cab/property. Contact BT and get them to sort it once you've tested from the test socket.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
