Sorry if this is a daft question, but what is the easiest way to check whether my funds have been transferred over to the lowest fee class ? - Do I just manually search the fund name on the III website and compare the fees ? - Or is there an easier way to do it for all funds ?
Thanks in advance0 -

So that's that then, until the next time.0 -

You might try Trustnet.0 -

Unfortunately that’s the way to check… It’s a royal pain in the ****! Whilst your doing it just keep repeating “II are cheap, II are cheap, II are cheap…”
Trustnet’s very useful, but be aware that not all the units listed will be available through II.0 -

Not so chirpy cheap cheap...?:)

They’ve converted my funds to Newton Asian Income Inst Inc GBP & Newton Global Income B Inc, which have higher ongoing charges than the ‘W’ class units listed as available for these funds on II’s site. In fact with the loss of the rebate, the charges on these units are more than my old dirty units, by about 0.2%. (‘W’ units would be about the same.)
I did notice the different unit classes on II’s original conversion message, but decided to wait and see what actually happened. (D’oh!)
As I already own ‘W’ units in a Newton bond fund (purchased clean with II), they would seem to be the correct clean class units for Newton funds.
Anyway I’ve called them about it today, and they say that they’ll look into it and get back to me…
I also received a message saying that they were going to convert my holding from Newton Global Income B to W. However I also received another message as follows:
'With regards to your fund conversions that have been completed but you have subsequently notified us of cleaner classes being available, we are contacting the individual Fund Managers directly to ascertain if these particular alternatives were available to you at the time of conversion. The conversions were carried out on the basis of the information that was provided to us when the conversions were processed.
As we have to request this information from the third parties involved, I am unable to confirm a timescale for the response being received. We will however contact you when we have confirmation.
We are not intending to move any of your funds to cleaner classes at this time, but should we be made aware that the cleaner classes were available for conversion originally then we will consider appropriate action.'
As far as I can see I have no way of knowing whether these versions were available at the time of conversion. Nocto you say you already hold 'W' units in a Newton bond fund (purchased clean with II) - can you tell me which one it is and when you purchased it, in case it is one of the ones I have disputed?
The clean funds I have asked them to convert my holdings into are:-
Newton Asian Income W Inc (GP1F)
Newton UK Income W Inc (GQ4N)
Marlborough Special Situations P Acc (I3PE)
The conversions on my two Newton Funds were made on 29th February and the Marlborough Special Situations one on 10th February. Does anybody else hold the funds I have listed above and if so can you tell me whether they were available on the dates my funds were converted, so that if they come back to me making out they weren't available on their platform I will have proof that they were, because basically they can tell me whatever they like and I have no way of disproving it! Yet another headache, it is never ending!
I finally got a response yesterday about the incorrect fund rebates for June and August. They tell me that the cash amounts were correct, it was the unit amounts that were incorrect and they are apparently posting me a revised statement. Not sure I believe them but the difference isn't much. I have asked them for an explanation, although I am not holding my breath......
Any information anyone can give me about the 3 funds I have mentioned will be very gratefully received!0 -

I’ve held Newton Global Dynamic Bond W Acc for about 18 months.
I’ve just looked up your three funds on Trustnet, and according to them the following units were launched on:
Newton Asian Income ‘W’ Inc - 30th Aug 2012
Newton UK Income ‘W’ Inc - 4th Sept 2012
Marlborough Special Situations P Acc - 2nd Jan 2013
II may be wriggling and trying to get out of it, but I think they’ll find that the units were available at the time of conversion…0 -
Thanks for that - if you've held a Newton W version of a fund for 18 months with II then I can't believe the W versions of other Newton funds weren't available as well. Thanks too for looking up my funds on Trustnet - as you say, if they have been available for all that time then I can't believe that II haven't been trading them. I have already replied and said that the funds were available on their platform last Friday so I consider it improbable that they were not available 4 days earlier when my Newton funds were converted, and asked them to deal with this quickly and without an argument! Did you hear back from them about Newton Asian Income? When you do hear please report back what they have to say0
