Infuriating Facebook

Haven't used Facebook for long while, and website has changed a lot.

Trying to search for someone's name.

But Facebook keeps auto-completing the name into a business name, adding a word after the name.

Whatever I do it changes it to the business name.

Any idea how I can switch this off or search for exactly what I want with nothing added ?

try using google: search for <persons name> facebook, some stuff'll com up. try those

In the white search box on the FB title line ?
are you sure you haven't go some other software running to do form completion or some other sort of malware
Not seeing that behaviour here

You need to find a name that is also part of a business name.

tried some which might be considered a business - but not doing it for me - what are you searching for, actual text you are typing

Type what you're looking for then put two spaces (or however many it takes) afterwards - that should clear the auto complete.


Hang on - is it actually auto completing (in the white box), or is it just bringing up results underneath? If the latter, then type what you're looking, then as it brings results up underneath the very bottom of that list should be a thing that says "See more results for x". Click on that, and that should give you a list, not automatically take you to a page you don't want to go to.

Type name in the search, a list of suggestions will appear, at the bottom of the list will be see more results options, this will take you to a new page where on the left you can filter.

I'm searching for raj joshi, it auto-completes to raj joshi photography all the time, it's very annoying.

It's works with me, while it defaults to photography you can still select the bottom option as I described previously, alternatively try this link:-
