Seriously consider moving up to Windows 7 which not only includes some parental controls but will continue to have security updates for several years. XP is going out of support from April.

That aside if it is website blocking you are looking to do then you might be better off using open dns. That way you can control every device in your household and there is nothing to install on each computer/tablet/smart phone (except a small app on one PC to keep openDNS up to date with your public ip address). Some more information on it here: http://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/parental-controls/

Still runs on XP, always worked fine with our kids.

8th of April Windows XP will be out of support and will receive no more security updates. It will be a hacker's dream.

    You really need to upgrade.

I would recommend K9 or PCWebControl, depends which system you are using.

any kid who can't get passed these parental control programs won't be fit for the 21st century technology . Teach them stranger danger etc
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

The problem with using filters instead of supervising them yourself is that so many harmless words can get blocked, Essex, Bluetit and S!!!!horpe spring to mind. My parents deactivated the parental controls very quickly after they discovered how frustrating this can be. I have children now, and I don't have any filters at all. We use the Web together. If you're worried about online perverts, they'll be on the sites aimed at children, so no filter in the world will help!

I think the exclamation marks validate my point lol
