Is This A Scam? ……. I Think It Could Be!

I'm selling a trailer advertised on a buy/sell forum. After a request for more details and pictures regarding the trailer, I've received the following email:-

"Good to hear back from you, i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project, i am at sea right now so i wont be able to check the Jeep trailer, 1944 Willys MBT - Bantam trailer am buying this for my dad as a surprise gift so am willing to offer you the amount you requested, i insisted on PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online and i don't have internet banking too, but i can pay from my PayPal account as i have my bank a/c attached to it, all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payments, and if you don't have a PayPal account yet, i will suggest you set one up at https://www.paypal.com it will not take you more than 3 mins to do that, i will be expecting your PayPal email so that i will make payment, i have a pick-up agent that will come for the pick-up they will also determine and secure the shipment once payments has been sorted, i will also need your
full name and phone number."

Can I be scammed if money is showing in PayPal account? Once it's in is that safe?
He's not asked for me to forward any money on to his "shipping agent" …… yet

After you have shipped the goods Paypal will ask for their money back when the true owner of the funds finds out they have been stolen from them.

Tell him you will only accept a direct bank transfer or Western Union payment - you will never hear from them again

Thanks for the replies, they certainly confirm that I was targeted. Pesky scammers!! No harm done though, they've not emailed again and in any case, I'm would just ignore them.

now that you are wise to the scam turn the tables and string them along, see how far they will go, make some wierd request's etc
