I'm interested in looking at LED Growing Lights but they seem to have very mixed reviews and I cannot seem acquire one from a mainstream retailer.

Any views on lights to look at?

  • Other than the thought crossing my mind that I guess they must work, because they must be what "cannabis farms" use.:(

    Plants react best to some quite specific frequencies of light which most LED's don't provide, so LED growlights tend to be specialist items (if that helps at all)

    I have been using LED lighting to grow from seed for the last few years.
    This is the one i am currently using;

    I put some chilli seeds on at xmas under this light and they are now over 3" tall and thriving. You really do not need to spend a lot of money to get good results.

    I've been using the Garland Grow Light Garden to have a steady supply of salad over the winter:

    ...... I also grow salad in the polytunnel, but the Grow Light certainly produces bigger results faster.

    Type Gro Lux into google to get a wide range of lighting options for plants. Remember plants need a slightly different spectrum of light than is usually supplied by household lighting.
