Financial disassociation? Old British Gas account?

Hello!
A little help needed on an old account which shows up as a financial association on my credit file on Noddle.
When I lived with my ex the British gas account was in both our names. This was 'last confirmed' on 10/07/2011, and the account was always up to date and is now long closed.
I am currently saving for a mortgage (but quite a way off yet
) how likely is this to affect me? As far as I am aware he is not in debt or financial trouble. He wasnt when we were together but to be honest a million things could have happened since then. I have no contact with him.
Will it drop of after 6 years, and if he does get into financial trouble will it affect my credit. if so, can I disassociate from him, as I have no current financial ties to him.

They can stay for ever, sometimes they get removed.
Best file a notice of disassociation with all 3 CRAs. But first check, as my OH is only on a Equifax I think from an account in 2006. Not on the other 2 any more.:beer:0 -
Just contact the all three CRA's to remove the association it's easy enough to do You have no rights until you know about them.:)0
