sync ipad with 2 itunes accounts (1x uk, 1x us)?

Can't find a definitive answer to this, which either means it's more simple than I think, or it's not possible and I'm heading for issues.
I have a UK iTunes account. I'll be setting up a seperate US account later on.
If I download a movie from the US store, how do I get it onto my ipad which is set up to sync with my UK account?
Will the US download sit in the itunes/movies folder on my MBP and so automatically sync? I don't want to lose all of my UK stuff - I want the UK and US stuff on there together...............
