HSBC credit card - paid too much

Balance is £20 and I accidentally paid £65 to it from my Santander account (was supposed to go to my HSBC current account).
I think in the past they have rejected it when it's more than the balance, any idea if and when this will bounce back to my account?

Ring them up and ask, you're not supposed to put credit cards into positive balance but I've done it for a few quid regularly and this amount may just sit there until it's spent. If it wer hundreds or thousands it would be rejected.0 -

I think it was Einstein that said insanity was doing the same thing in the hope of getting a different result.
So if you are making a habit of overpaying and previously it was rejected, I don't see why you would expect any difference this time.
However, perhaps this repeated default of your agreement will be the straw that breaks the camels back.
Perhaps time to hunt out a new credit card provider quick

What the hell are you on about?
I did it ONCE about 3 years ago so think that maybe things have changed, hence the question.
Default of account? Never done such a thing.
