Firstplus Financial Records

Hello

My first post on this forum

I have used the invaluable info on here to reclaim PPI from Lloyds and some CPP - belated thanks to all involved

I am struggling to get some info from Firstplus and wondered if anyone had any ideas or info that might help

I had a secured loan from Firstplus which was paid off in full when I sold my house in January 2001 and I think it had PPI on it

I have written to Firstplus to ask for details of the loan as I do not have any details or paperwork other than a settlement figure on my solicitors paperwork
- no reply

I then phoned them and they say they have no record of my name or the address of the property the loan was secured on

Is it possible they will have info going back that far? (loan probably ran from 1998 to 2001)

Are they hiding it from me?
Is it worth sending a SAR request and how do I do that

I would really appreciate any help or advice
Cheers

It is possible, yes. However, it is is possible that they destroyed the data (it is more than 6 years after the end of the loan).

You can spend your £10 if you dont believe them.

There is also the issue that First Plus may not be the seller. A lot of First Plus loans were done through brokers. In those cases, the broker has the liability for the sale.

  • Thanks for the quick reply dunstonh

Can I ask a couple of other things?

Is there a good example of a SAR request letter I can use on the forum (seem to be a number of options)

If the loan was through a broker and I manage to get some info on it from Firstplus - what do you think are the chances that they would still exist, have financial records going back that far (2001) etc

    Thanks Again

It was sold to you before they were regulated, and if a broker sold it you they were unlikely to have been regulated either. You almost no chance of getting anything back.
