    Morning all,

time to pick myself up out of the pit of gloom I am in. The day is lovely and I'm getting ready to go shopping. Ive got Grandbaby overnight again and I'm looking forward to it.

Had a overnight guest in the form of a 17 year old girl who shared my sons bed. I'll get used to it at some point I'm sure.

Other news, we have a guest for dinner on Wednesday. Its hubbys site foreman. Ive spoke to him a few times and he is coming to meet 'Mrs Yam'.

Not only is he coming to meet me, he is cooking as well. Well they have discussed my culinary disasters at length and he wants to eat so he's doing the cooking. I'm at a loss. I should be happy but the thought is stressing me out! He sent me cupcakes last week. All very nice but I'm feeling a bit inferior.

Anyway, not much more to add,

    Have a good day all,

  • Bit overcast here but I have taken the risk and put some washing on the line.

It is DH 's birthday today so we are going out for dinner tonight.
That is the third time this week that I haven't had to cook. DD treated us to a Chinese takeaway on Thursday and DS treated us to Pizza last night.
And we don't have to spend much tonight as we are using the £30 gift card from the school that DH got at Christmas :)
We are going to the Caldecotte Arms aka the Windmill in MK and it has two for one offers so win, win, win :)

Julie I hope that you had a lovely day yesterday and that your knee is improving x

Tru what a nuisance especially if you hate dentists

Hilly I am glad that everything went well yesterday, it sounds like it was a beautiful send off.

Must get the place tidy, the outlaws are coming this afternoon

    BFN x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Good afternoon everyone :)

Late one for me but have had a busy morning. Lots of washing blowing on the line in the sunshine and all bedding stripped and in the machine now. Thai beef curry in the slow cooker - one portion for dinner and one for the freezer.

DH is still on a massive high from last night's rugby, what a game!

When next load of washing is done, am going to try another short bike ride. I downloaded a training programme to build up to a 30 mile trip but am only on the pre-programme so far. DH bought me a lock for my bike yesterday but it broke as we were opening the packet, so that needs to go back too.

Hilstep - the funeral sounds absolutely beautiful, you really did your MIL proud.

snoozer - take it easy and let your body go at it's own pace, people forget that grieving is such a tough process.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

hillstep. Glad the funeral went ok , sounded lovely x

It's clouding over a bit here , but the bedding is blowing on the line so hopefully will be dry soon

Lasagne and chilli are done , I had to nip to the local shops for an onion and they gave me a free tub of jersey cream :j perfect as I'm making a custard tart this afternoon :D
The lasagne I made was a recipe from last weeks food and drink , it has cheese sauce and mozzarella inside as well as on top , hope it tastes as good as it looks . The chilli is for tomorrow

Need to clean the kitchen lol

Just peeping out from behind the corner of the lurking spot to say 'hi'. Since last October I've left my home of nearly 40years, packed in my job and moved back to Glasgow. Not even settled here as heading for mid-Argyll as soon as the builders finish renovations.

I still read every day. Don't do much cooking or dusting here at my family home so saving loads of money! :o.

It's so nice to see the darkness retreat slowly, I hate the long winter darkness and so am now beginning to emerge from the gloom into early spring. Think it's seeing banks of snowdrops which cheers my face up.

Anyway, it's good to read everyone's adventures and misadventures. Thanks.
