VM 28 day money back guarantee

Hi has anyone actually had confirmation in writing that VM will cancel your contract anytime within first 28 days. I received my contract to sign today and that states I have 7 days to cancel, no where in the contract does it say 28 days, the website doesn't state cancel your contract either. Has anyone on here successfully cancelled their contract using the 28day money back guarantee

I've never, ever heard of this - what's in it for them? You can sign a contract of service that brings with it a minimum term commitment. Your tight to cancel will be limited to a few days, perhaps a week but this is lost when the first provided service goes live.

They do also state they will hold your application on file for X des to permit you to rethink your decision (and cancel , should you wish) but no provisioning work to bring the service to you will be undertaken. You are then given the opportunity to waive your cancellation right, for the work to proceed immediately - but a no-fee cancellation is impossible, you have to fork out out the agreed Early Termination Fee.
  • It states on their website if you are not happy with our service within the first 28 days we will refund your installation cost and first months charge, I called them to query why there is no mention of this in the contract and was told they would email me confirmation of this but haven't, the man on the phone did confirm that I had 7days to cancel contract before install then once the service was active I had 28 days to decide if I want to keep it. I just like these things in writing so there can be no doubt

I'd certainly make sure you record the call, with time and date in case of any dispute.
  • I've used this without a problem, just make sure you make note of the installation date as it starts then.

    From their site:

Money back guarantee: The 28-day money back guarantee is available for new cable customers and existing cable customers taking a new service. Call us within 28 days of service activation to cancel and we'll refund the first month's charge and any installation charge. You will only be charged for transactions (calls, texts, purchases, service upgrades) occurring after activation. Statutory rights not affected.
