car trouble

Hi, i'm sure someone will be able to help me with this! On my way home yesterday my car (Nissan Micra '99) seemed to not want to speed up when i put my foot down and then when i got out at home it smelt of burning. This morning it drove fine to work but then, again on my way home, it didn't want to speed up (it was fine when i started journey) about 10 mins into driving. It seemed to pull to the left when i changed gear and then when i got home it smelled of burning again. Could this be the clutch?
Many thanks for any help.

    Could be the clutch

The smell of burning clutch (& brakes) is particular
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

    I like that:

    "Brakes are sticking. be happy"

    :D

    Spacey's probably right.

A clutch fault won't make it pull to one side, a seized caliper or wheel cylinder (on the side it's pulling towards) will. It will also waste power, giving poor performance. After you drive it next, touch the road wheels. One of the left ones will probably be a lot warmer, or even hot, compared to the others.
  • Thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated. :-)
