Hi
Hope someone can help me
Probs with my Packard Bell MS2299 laptop. The battery wouldn't hold its charge, then when ever I plug in the power unit it powers down within seconds.
After a very long wait (ordered new battery from company that looked like in UK but turned out to be China - now in Paypal dispute) I ordered another battery from PSA parts - after reading on here(thanks).
The new battery is great but now needs charging and power lead is still playing up. Should a new power lead sort this prob out or could it be the connector to the laptop ? Can I just put in another power lead or do I risk blowing my very expensive new battery ?
Any advice would be greatly received thanks

think you need to wiggle the power plug cable gently to determin the fault, however wiggling the cable while measuring the output would with a multimeter would be better, but often needs 2 pairs of hands.
my money would be on the on board power connector, unless you are constantly bending the power cable.0 -
Take a look at the plug where it fits into the laptop. Has it worked loose where it pushes onto the pin?
Get a multimeter, if you can, to check the power out of the charger (unplugged from the laptop) whilst waggling the leads. If the needle flickers then buy a new charger.
Do not purchase a chinese charger if you want to keep your laptop, spend a bit more from a reputable supplier.0 -
Thanks for the advice, after a bit of jiggling wires I opted to buy a new power pack. Again I bought from PSA which was def more expensive than others advertised, but I guess you pay for what you get. Power pack arrived quickly and has solved the problem without me having to shell out for a new laptop.
Thanks for the help2013 Goals [STRIKE]ipad[/STRIKE] , Australia holiday,[STRIKE] cash [/STRIKE]:D0
