Love it, what are we like eh? Think ours could also be red wine debt.Makes me sound like I have a problem...
MSE score yesterday, phoned the bank and got my £10 charge dropped. :T I still need to phone Virgin about the 2 x £9 charges, hopefully they're just as reasonable. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
More good news. I got accepted for a 0% for 30 months on spends credit card from Santander, so nice and easily managed with my bank account login. So that's most of the finance for the windows sorted. :j Just need to wait to hear about the government 0% loan and grant part, and apparently we should hear by Monday at the latest. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0

Excellent work with getting the £10 charge dropped - fingers crossed Virgin do the same:T0 -
Virgin did not do the same. Oh well, at least I asked.
In happier news, after finishing my course a few weeks ago now and handing in my assignment, I discovered last night that I have passed!

I'm ecstatic! It's been so difficult and at times I really felt like giving up but now, it's all definitely been worth it.

Thank you so much everyone.
It really is such a relief and so exciting to be free of all the study.
On other news, I don't know if you remember my rant a fair wee while back about how much I don't want to keep working at my place. I don't know if I'll be offered a job there, the pressure will be on to take it if they do, but I have swung between hating it and thinking I could probably make it work and just stay. Well, lately it has been dreadful and I'm back to thinking it would be much better for me to leave. I don't know where I would go, I have 2 months to find something else, but I'm going to try. Decision made.
Nothing much has changed with the pizza debt. The minimum payment won't go out 'til later in the month. I have no plans in place for overpaying or anything, think I'm too tired to work it out but in the meantime at least it's manageable.
We haven't heard about the window loan/grant yet. OH phoned up and apparently they have been inundated with applications so we might have to wait another week or two. I'm on tenter hooks, I just want the finance in place and sorted. And also the £400 grant would be a big help. All we can do is wait.
Payday was on Thursday so I need to work out a budget for this month. My favourite part of the month.
Happy debt busting. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
We got a letter about the loan/grant yesterday. Apparently we forgot to put in the quote from the windows company so we need to email it to them. Then, decision by the end of the week. If it's not one thing...
Also, we got a letter saying the windows will be fitted around the middle of August. :T Excellent.
OH went mad in the garden yesterday so it now looks amazing. I was lying in the bath at the time watching Netflix.
I also found out about a 2-day-a week job so I've contacted the employer by email. I'm quite hopeful, my mate works there and says it's great. I'll wait to hear and in the meantime, I'll keep looking for ways to fill up the other 3 days.
I made an enquiry at work about my pension in anticipation of not being offered a job or not taking it. It turns out I'll need to get my pension contributions refunded as it's been less than 2 years and therefore they won't pay out anyway once I retire and I can't transfer it. I'm gutted about this, I'll lose the employer contribution entirely, can this be right? The woman I spoke to didn't seem to know much. I think I'll ring them again.
My wedding fund linked saver is supposed to mature this month. No sign of the interest yet. I need to phone them too.
Off to a car boot sale today to look for bedside tables.Happy debt busting everyone. x
