What is british gas up to?

I have switched to co op energy from british gas,co op are due to supply my fuel 24/2.today I had a phonecall from a bg employee telling me they want me to stay,that they will offer a better deal,smart energy will suit me and they can possibly get my contract back from co op....anyone else experienced this?

Yes, companies will do that. Ignore them. If they have a better deal then it will be shown on the comparison sites.0

YUP ! BG along with some other suppliers have special depts. that attempt to
persuade customers who are switching, not to Switch.
Look very carefully at what they are offering, it won't be any thing beyond their presently published tariffs - Ask for for full & complete tariff details of the offer and run it through a couple of Switch sites to see if it's really better value than your chosen new supplier, or any other supplier for that matter0 -
business retention. no companies want to lose customers so they may have some incentive to persuade you to stay, it can't hurt to hear it out.0

thanks for replys,bg are phoning back tue evening,i didn't think when the cooling of period was over the previous company could get you back,cant see co op accepting me leaving when I,ve just joined!0

They can't stop you leaving. You'll join co-op, and if you choose to leave them you only need to stay with them for 28 days. If you have agreed a tariff with co-op that has an exit fee they will be able to charge it, so take this into account with your calculations.0

Thanks for reply,i phoned co op customer service regards meter readings and the advisor told me I am not locked into a deal with co op when I queried bg trying to get my custom back,so pretty much what you said swanjon,what a nice way to do business!0
