Despite Halifax offering me a loan for £7000 a few weeks ago when I didn't want one, they refused to give me a Clarity card today. Crazy! Anyway, I got accepted for the Capital One Classic Extra card for overseas spending. Just need to get my online login details now so that I can set up a DD to pay off in full each month. I'm hoping that having more "Available Credit" will help me to get better deals on BT cards when my current deal ends later this year - the only reason I can think I've been denied credit is due to my Barclaycard being almost at its limit.

Curious... I have held a Capital One Classic for four years with £2400 limit and closed it to apply for an Extra card. Got refused.
The same day I applied for a Halifax Clarity and a Barclaycard Platinum with 14 months 0% purchases and 17 months 0% balance transfer. Got accepted both for Clarity, albeit at a 21.9% APR and just £800 limit, and for the Barclaycard with standard terms and £3500 limit.
Two months ago was also accepted for a Tesco credit card with 28 months 0% BT and a £5100 limit.

Congrats!
I recently applied and have been accepted for the Capital One Classic Extra! I got my log in details via email the day after I was accepted and then a day later, I got my PIN. They say the card will take 7 - 10 working days though.
I mainly wanted it for the free overseas spending! However, the 0.5% cashback although small, will definitely be good too! Every little helps! I plan on using my card for everything and then just paying it off in full every month via DD.
Sadly I couldn't apply for the AmEx cashback card since my earnings aren't that high. But at least the Capital One 0.5% is better than nothing!
P.S I also have a Barclay Card that I did a BT on. Thankfully, it's only up to 1/2 its credit limit.0 -
Just dropped in to say I got my card this morning. A mere 4 days after my application was accepted. Very impressed with their swift responses so far!0
