Increase in Statutory Redundancy Payments

I am being made redundant as of 18th Feb and will be leaving on 31st March. I am entitled to 12 weeks notice which takes me to 13th May. Company are paying me at the current statutory rate but this is due to increase at the beginning of April. I was wondering if this is correct or if I should be paid at the new rate. Any advice appreciated regarding my entitlement. Thank You.

How long have you worked there?
You can only add the statutory notice to the date you were given notice to determine service for redundancy.
I know that does not answer the question but would need to go and have a look at the employment act to which determines when the "weeks pay" is calculated.0 -
Hi Getmore4less, I have worked there over 20 years. Will have a look at the relevant regs as you suggested. Thanks!0

Ok that's the full 12 weeks notice.
and the full 20 years for redundancy.
The employment act takes a bit of reading as it cross references all over the place.

I will try and find some time to have a look.
this is the start of the redundancy section
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1996/18/part/XI
135 The right
(1)An employer shall pay a redundancy payment to any employee of his if the employee—
(a)is dismissed by the employer by reason of redundancy, or
(b)is eligible for a redundancy payment by reason of being laid off or kept on short-time.
(2)Subsection (1) has effect subject to the following provisions of this Part (including, in particular, sections 140 to 144, 149 to 152, 155 to 161 and 164).
so there are a few sections to refer to0 -
Many thanks for taking the time to post these regs! X0
