A&L Current Account - Easiest Way to Close?

My Regular Saver matures at the end of July and as soon as it gets transferred to my current account I intend to close it all down. Whats the easiest way to do this? Have had a quick look on internet banking and can't see a way of doing it there. I assume its a telephone call to A&L?

Hi humfer,Section 10 of your T&C's details the procedure. You're supposed to return the debit card and cheque book, but when my wife recently closed her account she wasn't asked to return these, but to destroy them instead. They'll send any credit balance to you in the form of a cheque, and won't 'formally' close the account until there has been a 10 working day period of inactivity.I assume you know you can navigate to current accounts on the 08000 688638 freephone number?
