Has anyone use DEKRA UK Motor Vehicle Inspection

As a driver of a (very) old car I am looking at the possibility of having to replace it, rather sooner than later. Having been told that the AA offered a good motor vehicle inspection, I checked out their website. However, it seems that they don't offer this service any longer , but recommend a company called DEKRA UK - there is a direct link from the AA website. So my questions are:

1. Has anyone used DEKRA UK?

2. How do the service they offer compare to the old AA?

3. Is this the only company which offer this kind of service. Any other company better? or cheaper? (I had been told that the AA charged around £70 but this company charges a lot more. Perhaps the figure I was given was out of date?)

Thanks
