What can I expect from 1 year warranty?
Ohsoangry
I bought a dehumidifier and it failed within the period of the one year manufacturer's warranty, as advertised on the website where I bought it. However, having paid to return it, they have only agreed to pay me 45% of the purchase price, removing the rest for the use I have had. So should I get my money back or a replacement from the warranty or not? I can't seem to find any paperwork telling me either! Thank you.

A manufacturer's warranty does whatever the warranty document says it does (and no more). A warranty is something that is offered in addition to your legal rights under the Sale of Goods Act, and doesn't replace them.
Remember your SoGA rights are against the retailer, not the manufacturer. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
