random check tax credits letter

hello

received letter saying ive been selected for an exmanination random check
says they wabt me to send evidence that sons x and y are still in fulltime education
they asking for original letters stating start end dates qualifcation to be acheived and course
should i be worried? ive done no wrong

also do you know if they photo copy any of the documents i will send before sending them bck to me?

There is only something to worry about if your claim is not legit...they do random checks all the time. I have read somewhere on here before that they do photocopy all documents sent to be checked against any future documents recieved or for future queries,someone else may be able to confirm this. So don't worry as these random checks are the norm.

I had the same a few weeks ago, I just got a letter from my daughters college to prove what course she was doing and that she was still attending and sent that. Its nothing to worry about, they wont send the letter back i dont think so i just kept a copy.

I too had this check done - I got a letter from my sons old school and the college he attends now and sent them off - got a letter back a few weeks later from tax credits saying everything was fine and returned the letters that I had sent them. Very easy and straightforward so dont worry about it.
