Slight problem with Blackberry 9320 phone

My Blackberry 9320 phone has been behaving perfectly since I have had it but I think I must have done something wrong recently as it is now behaving oddly!

Now, when I receive a text I see the first few words as usual. When I click on these to open it the phone progresses automatically to a blank screen where I can type my reply without my having read the whole message.

Strangely, if I click on Forward I can read the first five lines of the message at the bottom of the screen.

I think I must have altered something without knowing it but my question is how do I get back to the normal setting where I get to read the full message by clicking on the few words that appear when I go to texts?

You might want to try switching your phone off, then taking out the battery and sim card and check for dust or damp in the compartment - If there is dust, just wipe it clean with a tissue or dry cloth and put battery and sim back in and restart if damp, try drying it and then restarting.

You might want to check if there are any updates available for your Blackberry's operating system (through the Blackberry Link program).

Cheltenham Dude: Thanks for your suggestions. My son cleaned the contacts and the phone rebooted itself and seems back to normal.
