I have problems with music on my laptop ( Windows 7) , when trying to burn a CD i get a lot of red crosses which i believe are due to the files being in WMA format rather than MP3. I have looked for solutions online to convert them all to MP3 but the couple i have tried all ask for payment at the last step.
Does anyone know of a free solution ?

Thanks in advance.

  • When do you get red crosses? when burning? trying to play back? how are you trying to play back? why would WMA be the problem?
    Friendly greeting!
  • When burning all tracks add to the burn list ok but then when burn starts some of the tracks get red crosses next to them and it says invalid file format and it seems to be against ones that are in WMA format.

Just a possibility. The WMA files may be DRM protected. Try burning with Windows Media Player.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.
