what to do with an old laptop?

I have an old broken laptop. its wont even open up anymore
can I sell it for parts? who would take them?
also I'm worried about old data and stuff I want to keep private on the computer

Take the hard drive out to protect your data and sell the rest of it for parts. Dont expect to get much for it though0

Remove the hard drive and if you think you can use it, get a usb adaptor (cheap on ebay/Amazon) and use it for extra storage.
If you decide not to use it, destroy it by driving a big nail through the middle of it.
As for the rest of the laptop, find out how much the same item fetches on ebay's completed items.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0 -
