Why does it take 3 days to make a payment to my credit card?

I used to send faster payments to my CC and they usually increased my available balance within a few hours, and the next day at the latest. I assume different companies will be different but mine (Aqua) have notoriously bad systems so I assume other companies will be able to the same.

The first time you do this might not be as quick because your bank reserves the right to investigate faster payments before sending them.

You can draw your own conclusions as to why their in-house procedures take days whereas it takes seconds to get the money to them from another bank .....................

If they accept FP then they get it to the destination account no later than the end of the subsequent working day.
