claiming mobile insurance

Hi I am insured through my bank with mobile insurance and my phone has just broke. I am going to make a claim however I am wondering if the fact that the phone is paid by my husbands bank and is in his name will have any effect on the claim ? The phone has never been registered as when I went to it said the latest Iphones are automatically covered, any help gladly appreciated as I don't want to make a claim when im not entitled to.Thanks.

    Mobile Phone Insurance

    Your insurance, administered by Lifestyle Services Group Limited (LSG) and underwritten by London General Insurance Company Limited, covers one phone for sole Silver Account holders, while joint account holders can insure a phone for each of you.

    * Covers phones up to a maximum individual original retail cost or value of £2,000 including VAT.
    * Covers the cost of replacing the phone in the event of loss or theft or the cost of repairing (or replacing where the phone cannot be repaired).
    * Covers the cost of unauthorised calls made up to £1500, for contract phones, and up to £300 for pay-as-you-go phones.
    * Full details and exclusions.

    Registering for Mobile Phone Insurance is recommended as it will simplify the claims process. Call Silver Membership Services on 08458 353 835 for Mobile Phone Insurance.

    Phones must be the property and responsibility of the
    account holder(s)

  • You may have issues because of the above clause but these things are generally not so strictly applied for husband and wife as it is perfectly plausible that it is a "gift" both in terms of the phone itself and paying its bill
