On checking my online account I noticed Halifax have added a credit card account for up to 3k with £30 credit.
I never asked for it and don't want it. I called them and they said it was a mistake but could not tell me when it will be removed.
They did not even ask me for my details.
This was on Monday and its still there. Has any other Halifax customers had this or is this just an underhand way of trying to get people up to their eyeballs with this easy cash.
I'm very old fashioned so don't like to deal with these cards.

It'll be a mistake, as they say.0

I'd put it on eBay if I were you.0

Have you ever had a credit card account with Halifax? I think i've read somewhere else that they had some sort of upgrade over the last weekend and old Halifax accounts were showing up on customers online banking. The accounts had been closed but were just re-appearing. Its meant to be getting sorted in the next few days i think....0

There is a credit of £30 - Money for nothing - Why waste that, old-fashioned or not!0 -

Isn't that theft?0 -
I noticed my Halifax credit card with £5 credit that I didn't renew showed up on my online banking suddenly within the last week, as far as I am aware I closed the account and donated the balance to charity. I look at all my accounts through First Direct Internet Banking Plus and it just appeared one day this week..bizarre!0

Hi there, sorry only just got round to reading replies.
Yes I did have a credit card closed about 5 years ago.
I know some are saying spend the £30 but you don't get money for nothing and I intend to remortgage in the next few months and don't want any hassle or blips by spending that silly amount before they amend my account.
It is still showing by the way a week later.0 -
I had an old closed CC account show up but it is gone now.
Reading other threads on here they appear to be having lots of glitches following an update.0
