BT post in the way of new drive layout

I am about to change the layout of my drive; there is a BT post which could become unsafe as a result. Can I get BT to pay for a retaining wall to protect their post from falling? Alternatively, can I ask them to move it to another position where the drive change won't affect it?

If it is not on your land why should BT bear the cost of you destabilising their property?

Even if it on your land I fail to see why BT should pay.

No - in a word. If you are making alterations, you advise them of the change and they arrange to relocate it, of which you will pay the total cost. If your revised access results in you damaging their property, they bill you for the repair costs.

is the pole on your property?

it is openreach that will be responsible for the pole not BT so if you want the pole moved you need to contact somebody in openreach to talk about a line plant rearrangment

you will normally be charged for moving a pole I will be very surprised if you get it done free of charge
