Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 - Any good?

Options
I have a £50 gift voucher from John Lewis; they are currently selling the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 with 16GB for £169.95.

Is this tablet worth purchasing or are there any better deals around at the moment? Preferably John Lewis as I'd like to use my gift voucher sometime soon if possible.

I'm currently having to use my local libraries computers at the moment, so forgive me if I don't get back to this thread within the next couple of days.

Thanks in advance for any help and recommendations offered.

Mrs B has a Yoga 10 and likes it - I suppose you could say that it's a 'budget' tablet :o

Sadly, there is very little info on the 'net that I can find in discussion forums about them :(
It comes preloaded with all sorts of crap which I have found impossible to remove
It is even impossible to put this crap in a folder like you can do on any android or iDevice - maybe that's a fault, but I am unable to find anyone else who has one to compare with!
  • Thanks J B. Maybe I'll keep looking in that case.

Might also ask someone at work if they can recommend one, reason why I'm after a tablet really, free access to Wi-Fi though at current unable to use works computers which is annoying. Not really allowed to use the Wi-Fi service either to be honest though can ask my colleagues for key to access it. Just don't tell the boss. :D

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, most appreciated.

Unless you've got a good reason not to, your search for a 7-8 inch Android tablet should start and end with the 2013 Nexus 7. You can tell it apart from the 2012 one most easily by looking for a rear camera - the older one doesn't have one. I think they're available for £180 for the 16GB.
Only reason I can think of not to buy one is if it's too expensive (look for the newest Asus meMo), if you demand to have a microSD slot (suggestions?) or if you need 10 inch instead (Nexus 10).

Thanks for all the replies. I've had a word with one of my colleagues and was thinking about getting an old model of Apples if possible. Think John Lewis sell them but not sure as I've not had a chance to check them out yet.

    Any thoughts?
