I can see your point, however see it from their side - 'missing' 3 claims is very suspicious. It's hard to forget one claim when asked - 3 is pretty much screaming out that you've hidden them.
Definitely an expensive lesson, but hopefully a useful one

In some ways I think the OP is fortunate in so far that the current claim was so small.
I have been involved in a claim for a £50,000 house fire where the PH did not declare 2 minor claims (not sure if intentionally hidden) in the previous 24 months.
Insurers argument to cancel the policy ab initio was that they don't insure anyone on the scheme (online) that has previous claims.
I on this occasion fully support the insurers.0
