Hi
I have had phone calls off 3 different numbers for this company.
The 0800 240 4623 number on their website, so definitely the company you are talking about from London and not from Blackpool. An 01342 821 002 number which is in East Grinstead. Finally an unknown number.
Gentleman dealt with was an P Baker, and after questioning him as he sounded like an oldish gentleman he then got an colleague of his who apparently who was the legal representative of the company to confirm the below.
The banks would not release the money to you if the companies could
lawfully take it straight back. Only on rare occasions do companies try
to get it back, they know full well they can't. If this scenario ever
transpires it is nipped in the bud by our team of lawyers.
We cannot simply disappear. We are a registered company who operate from
the address on our website. If we did act like this then someone would
be liable and caught.
You honestly have no need to worry on either front.
Regards,
Mr Peter Baker.
STRANGE HOW ON THEIR OWN TERMS AND CONDITIONS IT STATES WE DONT OFFER LEGAL ADVICE.
MY ADVICE IS STAY AWAY WELL AWAY IF THIS WERE AN LEGITIMATE CLAIMS REFUND SERVICE AS PPI THEN THERE WOULD BE MORE THAN THIS COMPANY OFFERING IT AND I AM SURE THE PRESS WOULD OF GOT WIND OF IT.
I have several email exchanges off this person and also several voicemails all of which have been given to the correct department.0 -

1 - the bank direct debit guarantee scheme requires them to refund disputed payments. They have no choice. However, once the payment is confirmed as valid, they then take it back off you. That is how the scheme works.
2 - Even in invalid cases (which are very rare), you still owe the original company money and they are not going to let you off. Can you imagine your lender saying that they are going to let you off paying your mortgage or the council letting you not pay the council tax.
3 - They are not solicitors. So, who is this team of lawyers?
4 - yes they can disappear. They go into administration with more liabilities than assets and the money paid has been taken out the business by the directors. It is the usual process that other dodgy claims companies have used.

Okay had a call from the company in question and after speaking to some guy called Sam this was the email he sent!
It was good to speak with you and from our conversation I feel you are guaranteed some form of refund but at this stage I am unable to suggest an exact amount.
I just want to confirm that this is a no-win, no-fee service and we charge no upfront costs. You can view our fees for a successful claim and further information by visiting our website - http://www.jtcrawfordassociates.com
In order for us to assess the exact entitlement to your refund we need to view a list of your direct debit payments for the entire period you wish us to review. The usual period would be the last 5 or up to 8 years.
These can easily be downloaded from your online banking. If you do not have online banking then you can contact them and ask them to email you copies between dates you provide them. Alternatively they will post them out to you.
Please feel free to blank out sort codes and account numbers as we just need the list of direct debit payments, no personal information is required.
If you can get these over to me as soon as possible then we can have them assessed and an exact claim amount over to you the very next day. If you are happy with the refund amount then we will proceed to get the funds back into your account by the following day.
If you require any assistance please feel free to get in touch. If I have not heard from you within a couple of days I will follow up with a courtesy call to see if you need any further information before moving forward with the refund.

I did call them on the number stated on there website at 21.30 in the evening and some lady actually answered and explained that after reading the comments on this forum would they like to respond and to call me back and this was on Thursday last week and guess what no call back or email so exposing on here seems to be the best medicine! Sadly though he did say one guy from Birmingham had got back 19000 pounds and a woman 14000 pounds so if that is to be true they have been totally scammed and he even said this guy called Sam that he had done the same for his family and friends, some friend sigh!0 -

Sadly that is because they take the fee after the bank refund the money. Then when the bank take all the money back, try and get a refund from the claims company then.
This is something that the police need to be involved with. Sadly, I doubt they will get involved. However, those of you that have been contacted, please let your trading standards office know as they will involve the police but it relies on volume of people letting them know.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi guys I don't normally post on sites but I really need to let you know that I have been though exactly the same proses you guys have been talking about but they are operating under a different name witch is GLADSTONE BROOKE ASSOCIATES & GBA REFUNDS.
And this web site is still up and running so be wear it is a scam
Also there names are Sam king , Susan shaw , Oliver hart and Colin but I didn't get Colin's last name0 -
Gladstone Brooke Associates is NOT authorised by the Ministry of Justice and therefore acting unlawfully.
Instead of obtaining authorisation, it seems to have "borrowed" the name of Gladstone Brookes Limited which is.
Although I have do not like any ambulance chaser, at least the latter can lawfully offer claims management services.0 -
