Just because no one is sitting with them doesn't mean they aren't working. They don't have another desk out of sight to do their paperwork.

Half a dozen 'senior' staff passing orders along the line and on 'junior' running round like a blue arsed fly doing all the work.

Might be a problem with people that don't live nearby an internet cafe / library or have internet access at home.

If they can get to the jobcentre then they can get to a local library - it may mean that they have to get a bus, train or whatever.

But let me guess you know for a fact it wasn't their break?

Of course one example make it perfectly valid to claim all are, heaven forbid anyone did that about jobseekers.

    They are Civil Servants!

I was only claiming for a very short time, fortunately, but was stunned at how inefficient they were. [I've done lots of time and motion type studies].

The JC should just be for 'searching for jobs' nothing else... 'hence the term'

    'THE JOB CENTRE'

No JSA, we should only have ESA/HB etc

or just scrapp the lot, see how the UK manages, would be interesting... lol

The technical term should be ''claimants''
