What do you think will happen in the future. Do you think they will be no more and everything done online. I know they are cutting 40 per cent of the workforce this year. Jobcentre Manager told me.

The future will have at least a certain level of staff to manage claimants, make decisions on eligibility etc.
There's more expectation that job searches should be completed online now, with that comes an expectation those searches can be monitored and evidenced.0 -
Might be a problem with people that don't live nearby an internet cafe / library or have internet access at home. All your base are belong to us.0

The staffing budget has been cut by 10%, and this is expected to be managed by offering limited redundancies at AA level and natural attrition. The 40% figure is absolute nonsense.0

As in all other govt departments they will be expected to do the same amount of (or more) work with less people. You think it's difficult to get through to a JC now; it will be impossible. They won't staff up until they are at crisis point.
But 40% is very unlikely; I'd guess 10-15% through natural wastage, same as other departments.I am Doll Parts

Judging by the number who are sat around yapping amongst themselves when I go there, they can afford to lose a few.0

exactly...in my local one, there are always at least 3 or 4 and sometimes 5 standing at the front desk chatting, you are lucly if one of them stops talking to serve you.0 -
The jc manager told me it was 40 per cent.
JC managers aren't immune from being exposed to propoganda.
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

We have a queue out the door, 9 advisers sitting around with nobody with them, one actually signing people and a security guard from G4S to keep the peace.
They are wasting billions, lazy, incompetent idiots.0 -

Just because no one is sitting with them doesn't mean they aren't working. They don't have another desk out of sight to do their paperwork.0
