How does a seller end early???

Hi
I have seen an item i really want on ebay.

I have already bid and contacted the seller.

I have offered much more than the bidding sits.

The Seller is happy to sell it to me early (there is another 5 days to go but I really want it before then)

The seller said, as there are bids, he can no longer put up a buy it now price

How can we do this by ending early?

Neither of us want to do anything frowned upon but I am happy to pay, and he is happy with my offer.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

The most straightforward, not breaking any rules way, is to put in your high bid, when/if the item reaches this amount, seller can end auction. The only other way is if he cancels all bids and ends auction, relisting as a buy it now at your price. That would cost him more in fees. Any other ways would breach Ebay rules.
    .
  • place a bid for the amount you are willing to pay, then get a friend to bid 5p lower than that amount, your max bid will then show up, the seller can then end the listing erly and sell to the highest bidder, which is you, at the amount you are both happy with

not sure if you are allowed to have a friend bid like that but i don't see it as Shill Bidding cos you will arrange it, not the seller.

    I have offered similar.

I will bid to get to the top (assuming I do of course!!)

I have said that whatever the final price, I will change the final figure through paypal to reflect our agreed price.

There is a bit of trust of course, but he wouldnt send until I had paid so it sould be okay from the sellers point of view.

Just waiting to hear back from the seller
  • he can end bids at anytime just go into revise item the end, no problem ebay automatically sends e mail to inform all bidders then he can just send you the invoice..

If you bid so that you are the current highest bidder the seller can end the sale with you as the highest bidder and then add the exra you are willing to pay to the postage.

Well I have just checked and he has ended the auction early The seller ended this listing early because the item was lost or broken

He hasn't contacted me though so I am not sure what is going on now lol!!
