Quote for bannister installation in a terrace house

Hi

I've been quoted £250 to supply and fit howdens redwood bannisters in my two bed terrace house, it's a simple straight staircase with 13 stairs in total. Does this sound about right?

Does this include removing the old handrail and posts?

There isn't one fitted ATM! It's to install from scratch.

If you have a look and work out just what the parts are going to cost it will give you some idea what he's charging for labour.

If Howdens are supplying the materials, the contractor has an account and could be getting up to 70% discount, doing a comparison with Wickes would be meaningless. £250 sounds on the cheap side to me TBH.

Had them installed today and they look superb, a brilliant job by the carpenter and I'm v happy indeed. £250 well spent!
