damp help

Hi everyone had a damp proof course 4 years ago it has not taken we have had a surveyor out to probe the walls all had high readings of damp the person who originally did the course did it to the bare min of 3 feet the surveyor recommended that it should be done to a min off 4 -5 foot or a meter and a half the damp is above the damp course it runs round the room above the original course also below from the floor upwards will this be cover in the guarantee? Or will I have to pay can I claim on my house insurance for damage to my newly plaster walls

4 or 5 foot of new plaster do you mean?

Where's the water coming from? For it to be a serious problem, it must be coming from somewhere. Is the damp course breeched in any way? Any ajoining walls or soil higher than it on the outside?

Any leaks, dodgy guttering, blockages etc?

I'd have thought the guarntee would cover it, unless there is a problem you haven't fixed.

contact the firm who done the original damp proofing ,further to this rising damp will generally only rise to about 3.3 foot, it could be penetrating damp in which case you will have to tank the area with something like sika no 1
