Thanks for posting this squibbs25, I hope someone can answer this, as I too have seen a few silverfish in my downstairs loo.
Ive checked on the net and found a few sites that sell powder and liquids (quite dear) but I get the impression its for commercial use or if you have a major infestation.
As mine is only the odd one or two I wonder if there is a easier or cheaper way to get rid.
Sorry I cant help but Im sure someone out there will have the answer.

Cloves and clove oil repel silverfish. They're not dangerous. I heard that they appear where it's damp, but I've only ever seen them when it's hot and dry. They apparently eat wallpaper paste, but I've only ever seen them chowing down on books. As a result I made little sachets out of fabric, and put a cotton wool ball sprinkled with clove oil in there. I haven't seen any since.

To be honest i was quite embarressed to post this in the begining! LOL

I have just spoken to my nan (who's 91) and she said she's always thought they are connected with damp.
I remember when i was a little girl and finding the odd one or two at home.
No big deal was made of it. Now i'm in my own home it's a different story!
As i say i've only ever noticed the odd couple and we have lived here 4 years.

They love damp places and access to plent of grub, so bathrooms with invisible flakes of skin are a five star hotel for them. They won't hurt, and as a young relly informed me years ago "Actually, they're quite interesting" !
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
