Garden wall repair

I posted a question in the main 'In my home' forum about storm damage to a garden wall.
I got a couple of answers where people quoted me a ball park figure for re-pointing a wall - they came out at £12.00 per sq.m and £18.00 per sq. m respectively.
Armed with this information in mind I have requested three quotes from local trades people, and have received two quotes back so far.
1) Quoted £550 to repoint an 8sq metre garden wall and refix a row of bricks on end along the top of the wall - bricks supplied by me.
I thought that that was expensive until I received the second quote :-
2) Description of work:
· Rake out mortar joints on the garden wall.
· Prepare mortar joints for re-pointing.
· Prepare and lay bricks to the top of exterior wall.
· Re-point the entire exterior wall.
· Clean down work areas.
Total = £950.00
-20% Web Discount
Grand Total = £760.00
No idea what a web discount is in this situation as the guy still came out to look at the job, also - isn't 'rake out mortar joints' and 'prepare mortar joints for re-pointing' the same thing?
As I said I am waiting on the third quote so will see what that says, but judging by the prices I was told to expect I must have mug written all over my face, or are my expectations misguided?
Thanks
