Clarification on Merge Requests

Because of how i comp i see many dupes, but as i make sure im only 1 or days ahead it isnt worth me logging in to do anything.
Like last night i was doing thursday ending comps and 3 or 4 i came to said i entered already, but by then i had got rid of my folder where the dupes would have been.
As i have folders ie - 'ending 2102 then inside that folder i put folders numbered 1,2 etc and put around 30 bookmarks in each, so once i do folder 1 i delete it so without re-searching the board i just move on.
But it would maybe be easier if there is a new button added to each comp 'DUPE' then if i spot one i know ive done (as only use mse) then i could hit dupe as could others.
Just an idea but it might help...
(oh and the reason i comp this way is so i see every comp ending for each day, meaning i miss 90% of dailies - but i cba with dailies anyway)
Keep lucky folks

But on the other hand if people kept getting abusive pms and couldn't turn them off then they would be in a hell of a state.

Indeedy!! BUT - I think this issue has come up a few times lately in other CCC threads - people can choose to have their PMs turned off BUT they can also amend their settings to allow them to send/receive messages from specific forum users - i.e. BGs - if they so wish (unless it's the BGs that are sending naughty messages! :eek:only kidding Glad/Dalkirst :rotfl:). If a forum user chooses NOT to add BG names to their contact lists either, then so endeth the debate.
Each to their own...:cool2:
oops - I took too long to post- Liz B62 says it all in her post :T

You need know both posts for a merge to be requested and to be sure which one is the dupe.0 -
To enable PMs to a restricted set of users you need to click on User CP towards the top of the screen.
Apologies for the small screenshot:
1) is where you set up your contacts - just add their usernames (eg. Glad and Dalkirst)
2) is where you control the messaging
3) needs to be ticked to allow PMs
4) needs to be ticked to restrict who you can send you a PM0 -
There are only really a couple of people who dupe spot, and have PMs turned off, so can't send a merge request. As someone else said: that's their prerogative.
I agree with Toniq that you can receive an abusive message, report it, and block the user, but some people have whatever personal issues that mean it's 'safer' for them to have their PMs off altogether.
I think that this is a debate that is likely to always have us going round in circles: there are a significantly larger number of people who can send a PM with a merge request, than those who post and ask someone else to do it....

Weird i dont get why people send abuse???
Idiots! Either way if you ever receive abuse from a jealous person just laugh it off in the knowledge that you are obviously better than them and happier in your life.
I never ever let anyone get under my skin nowadays, as far as im concerned its your own life who cares what others think, it isnt going to change your life.
Love everyone be happy and most of all be lucky (and dont spend hours arguing the toss with people who clearly have a lower iq than yourselves)
