Picked up a bargain yesterday in my local Comet store, a managers bargain offer , 14" portable teletext TV for £24.99 perfect condition, 12 months warranty no packaging, no remote and no instructions. No problem thinks me, I have got a few universal remotes hanging about in drawers. It's also the perfect size for my daughters small bedroom and at a bargain price.
It was only when I got home I discovered the remote is the only way of tuning the TV to the stations, something they never mentioned as they were taking my money. At present the only way I can use it is by plugging a VCR in to the SCART input and changing channels on that.
Got to find an original remote for it now. Any help locating one is appreciated.
The model is a Goodmans K14005T 14" (350mm for the converted).

Ok, first stop try Goodmans themselves http://www.goodmans.co.uk/ Manufacturers support is always the best place to start.
If no joy try ebay? Or sometimes at boot sales you see odd remotes being sold. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
i bet you could order one through currys
i looked at a toshiba without remote and it would have cost me approx £12 to get a replacement through them.0 -

You could buy a universal remote from Argos or a lot cheaper off ebay.
When i bought my house last year it was rented out previously and they left a phillips telly but with no remote and you had to use that to tune it. I got one off ebay for about £3 (they usually say which makes they cover but most cover all) and it was actually a phillips universal remote so matches the telly perfectly.
Only thing to be cautious about is that the one I bought (which was the cheapest) doesn't change AV and so I can't get the the picture from the DVD player up. Hubby says the scart socket on the telly might be broken but the picture for normal telly is perfect and was no problem tuning it in at all.0
