Mis sold bank charges lloyds tsb

Hi All wondering if you can help me, when I first had a bank account, I was with the TSB, but as you all are aware, they merged with LLoyds, I had to open up a new account, when I went to open my account, I distinctly asked for a current account, I was told that it was not available and I had to have a select account, from that day forward, I had to pay a fee, which was for mobile phone insurance, breakdown recovery and another insurance, which I cant remember, for years I was paying this, I then went into bank and complained, I told them I did not have a phone, I did not drive, yet they said well it can cover who you are travelling with, I told them, I either walked or got public transport, but it was like I was being fobbed off and told, think of the benefits, which I told them, I did not use, finally I was given a current account years later, should I try and reclaim those bank charges, Thank you xx

You didn't have to open a new account, when this other account was explained to you, you would have had the choice to either open it and pay for it, or bank elsewhere.

If you knew you didn't need it because of the reasons you've mentioned, why did you agree to it. ????
