Royal Mail International Signed for small packages - now tracks to destination?

I just posted a small package to Argentina for £8.80 on the advice of the post office worker who said that Royal Mail International Signed for now continues to track until destination and not just until it leaves the UK. He was quite adamant that this was now the case after I asked him as had always thought it only tracked to the UK borders. Is this correct? If not, I have just wasted £8.80.

If you use this link, it will usually trace it to its destination.

It's true, there is now full tracking to certain destinations - but not all destinations.0

I was always advised to use Airsure in the post office as it is only slightly more expensive but has full tracking. You could only use it to some destinations. I wonder if Airsure is for the chop and International Signed For will be tracked but only if it is going somewhere that the mail service has the actual ability to track items.0

Royal Mail want to bring in another service but change the name of AS and ISF. This is the business proposal but usually what comes to business filters through to counter customer. So no chopping.

In my experience RM cannot guarantee tracking outside of the UK, however much their service info suggest otherwise.
It is almost entirely dependent on the destination postal workers bothering or knowing to track them.
I often get small packets from the US all the time with "guaranteed delivery information" which USPS offer free when buying online.
The success rate is quite shocking, perhaps 2 of every 9 items actually confirm delivery, most never track after leaving the US.
Apart from couriers I do not know any postal service who can 100% guarantee tracking outside their borders, although lots like to make out that they can!0 -
We use http://track-trace.com/ for international shipments
Also http://www.trackitonline.ru/ can be useful when you want a delivery notifaction0
