scottish power cancelled application

Really hacked off. Applied via energyhelpline to switch and came up with socttish power who I applied for. All fine but then got an emai for gas & elec today to say that they cancelled the application. No idea why...Have had problems with powerge in the past in that I thought that my account was settled and they sent me a final warning (almost a year after my account closed!) on Christmas eve so unsure if this has affected my credit rating. Did online check and it wont show me details (so going to see if I can cancel that as no point paying for instant report that isnt instant!)...AHHHHHHH
Has anyone had this experience & what reason did they give for cancellation? Advice would be great. Should I just do another comparison?

Things are slow at the weekend, not so many viewing/posting.
Even if the bill was paid off, still a possible credit risk.
Do another comparison will give you a better overview but you may be accepted with a prepay meter. Did Scottish offer this option ?
As far as I know Ebico are the only providers who charge the same for credit and prepay.

Why not call SP and ask them the reason - it isn't necessarily the credit check although it may well be.

Thanks for those! I wouldnt go on to card as the error was powergens & I pay by DDM so they could have taken funds from that if necessary!!
I've asked for a copy of my credit report because that is bothering me anyway and will ring scottsh power tomorrow but looking at another thread wonder if its because I have quite high usage & they are wanting to sell people more expensive packages!! Will update when I know!

Rang them this am and it turns out it wasnt cancelled - just duplicate applications made due to the energyhelpline switch! Told them they should just say that in the letter...not a good start! Panic over but at least I get my credit report in full which I needed to check anyway! Thanks for all posts - do appreciate it!
