Saxo self revving and stalling

Problem with Saxo 1 litre petrol 02 reg.

After cold start Saxo self revs a first junction and sometimes stalls.

Restart, drive a mile or so and it idles normally.

Some reserch suggests idle control valve.

By those in the know ideas thanks.

    Could be . Looking towards dirty icv or corroded engine temperature sensor.

    Apparently common fault on these but a pain to pin down.

    ICV, MAF or Lambda sensor.

    Change the first two, they are cheapest.

    have you checked the tyre pressure.:rotfl:

    Some newer cars don't have idle control valves, it's all part of the throttle body.

    Lambda sensor first, MAF sensor in my opinion.
